Living with HIV/Aids
With new treatments, people living with HIV live longer, healthier
lives, but finding a health care practitioner who knows how to treat
the disease is essential.
Here are some tips on how to live with HIV/Aids:

Stay healthy
- Keep your appointments with your health care practitioner and follow their instructions carefully.
- Get immunisations to prevent infections like flu and pneumonia.
- Eat healthy foods and use safe drinking water.
- Exercise regularly.
- Get enough sleep and rest.
- Get screen for diseases like TB and Malaria
- Seek counseling that gives you information about care and treatment options.
- If you’re pregnant, be sure to get information on the prevention of mother-to-child transmission and advice on infant feeding.
- Get info on Antiretroviral drugs. These drugs effectively stop the
virus being made in the body and this stops the virus from damaging
the immune system.
