TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE FINANCIAL PLANNING PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY THE STANDARD BANK OF SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED (“THE PROMOTER”)

1. How to Play
1.1 This promotional competition starts on Wednesday 18 August 2010 and ends on Thursday 16 December 2010.
1.2 To qualify as an entrant into this promotional competition you must:
1.2.1 be a South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa;
1.2.2 you must be 21 (twenty-one) years and older;
1.2.3 hold a valid identity document;
1.2.4 earn a gross salary of at least R15 000 (fifteen thousand rand) per month;
1.2.5 log onto the Promoter’s financial planning website (“the Website”), found at www.standardbank.co.za/planning;
1.2.6 click on the Financial Consultancy Journey (“the Journey”) found on the Website where you must:
1.2.6.1 fill in all the necessary details (including name, surname, date of birth, place of residence, income, expenditure, marital status and age); and
1.2.6.2 request an appointment (“the Appointment”) with one of the Promoter’s financial planners (“Financial Planner”) (“the Requirement”). Your Appointment request is subject to availability; and
1.2.7 meet with a Financial Planner at your scheduled Appointment.
1.3 There are no entry forms to be completed in this promotional competition and once you have submitted your requested an Appointment with a Financial Planner you will automatically be entered into this promotional competition.

2. Prizes
2.1 5 (five) entrants each stand a chance of winning R10 000 .00 (ten thousand rand) which will each be credited into Stanlib Unit Trust Accounts (“Unit Trust Account”). Prizes and Prize winners are subject to clause 3.5 and 3.9 below.

3. General
3.1 The Promoter of this promotional competition is The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (“the Promoter”).
3.2 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants and their spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, business partners or associates are not eligible to participate in or enter this promotional competition.
3.3 All information relating to this promotional competition and published on the Promoter’s website or any promotional or advertising material forms part of these terms and conditions of entry.
3.4 No entry will be considered to be valid until a validation process has taken place.
3.5 Where applicable, prize winners will only be awarded the prizes upon the valid and successful opening of a Stanlib Unit trust account.
3.6 The prize winners shall be chosen by means of a lucky draw on Friday 17 December 2010 at the premises of the Promoter, situated at Standard Bank Centre, 5 Simmonds Street, Johannesburg. Each promotional prize winner will be contacted only telephonically by the Promoter
3.8 Should the Promoter be unable to contact any promotional prize winner after 2 (two) attempts, the prize shall be subject to a separate lucky draw and shall be allocated to this promotional competition.
3.9 Prizes will not be awarded to prize winners in any other form than as stipulated in clause 2 above and prizes will not be changed for any other prize other than the prize offered in terms of clause 2 above.
3.10 In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoter will be final and binding on all aspects of this promotional competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.16 The Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from a entrant's participation in this promotional competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising.
3.17 The Promoter will be entitled to publish the promotional prize winners’ names and photographs in any advertising, promotional, print, point of sale or public relations material, the nature and manner of such releases to be determined within the sole discretion of the Promoter, for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of the relevant selection process provided that each promotional prize winner consents in writing to such usage, after having being publicly announced as the promotional prize winner of this promotional competition.
3.18 If required by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Lotteries Board or for whatever other reason, the Promoter shall have the right to terminate this promotional competition with immediate effect and without notice of such termination. In such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights, which they may have against the Promoter and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against the Promoter, its directors, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
3.19 All entrants, by entering this promotional competition, agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3.20 The Promoter is not liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotional competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
